On Sunday, Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Olugbenga, accompanied by security personnel and journalists, visited a residential property in Araromi Quarters, Ayegun North, Oluyole Local Government Area.
This location served as the hideout where kidnappers had held Busayo John-Paul—the younger sister of former Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu—and her twin sons prior to their recent rescue.
The inspection occurred just one day after security operatives successfully freed the three victims, who were abducted on June 3 while Mrs. John-Paul was driving her children to school in Ibadan.
During the site visit, the Commissioner was questioned by journalists regarding viral claims—often cited by media personality Rufai Oseni—that Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Igboho led the rescue mission.
The successful operation has prompted broader discussions concerning security in the South-West, with local residents and officials commending the swift response of the security team.
Authorities confirmed that investigations remain ongoing to ensure all members of the criminal syndicate involved in the abduction are brought to justice.
