Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has officially appointed Former SGF Boss Mustapha as Adamawa State’s representative on the Board of Trustees for the Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund.
The appointment, announced on Tuesday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary Humwashi Wonosikou, is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the region’s security architecture.
The Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund was established by the Northern Governors’ Forum to act as a sub-national initiative that complements the work of formal security agencies.
The fund aims to enhance safety across the 19 northern states by focusing on intelligence coordination, the provision of operational logistics, inter-state security collaboration, and the promotion of community-based security initiatives.
Governor Fintiri highlighted Mustapha’s extensive public service background as a critical asset for the role.
“Boss Mustapha’s wealth of experience in public service, proven leadership capacity, and national stature make him eminently qualified to effectively represent the interests of Adamawa State on this all-important board,” the governor stated.
Fintiri also expressed deep concern regarding the persistent security threats facing Northern Nigeria, including banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, and communal clashes.
He emphasized that these challenges necessitate proactive, collaborative measures.
“I am confident that he will bring his vast experience to bear in advancing the objectives of the Trust Fund, fostering synergy among states and ensuring that Adamawa’s voice is heard in the collective quest for a safer Northern Nigeria,” the governor added.
This appointment reaffirms the Fintiri administration’s commitment to working with federal and regional stakeholders to secure the lives and property of residents across Adamawa State and the wider northern region.
