The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed that nine political parties have successfully collected their access codes to upload their candidates’ particulars for the 2027 general elections.
The update was provided on Tuesday by the INEC National Commissioner in charge of Voter Education and Publicity, Malam Haruna, during a briefing in Abuja.
“As of close of work on Monday, nine political parties have collected the access code for the national elections,” Haruna stated.
He emphasized that the commission does not distribute these codes to party secretariats; instead, authorized representatives of the political parties are required to approach INEC for collection.
To ensure security and procedural compliance, he noted that any party requesting the codes must provide a formal authorization letter from its leadership.

INEC has urged all registered political parties to adhere strictly to the established guidelines for candidate nomination.
The commission has issued the necessary forms and set clear timelines for the submission of candidate particulars, aiming to ensure a seamless and transparent process as the nation prepares for the upcoming 2027 electoral cycle.
