The unfolding saga involving Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew and the Presidency has taken a dramatic turn, uncovering stunning details about the fictitious government agency that operated right inside the Federal Secretariat in Abuja.
Prince Adeniyi allegedly ran a completely non-existent entity called the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), operating directly from the second floor of the Federal Secretariat Complex, Phase III.
He is facing an eight-count charge of forgery, conspiracy, and impersonation, with prosecutors alleging he forged presidential appointment letters bearing falsified signatures and seals to parade himself as a Director-General.
Security investigators discovered that Prince Adeniyi operated 34 different bank accounts, nine of which were opened under the names of his fictitious agencies.
He even successfully misled the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation into deploying legitimate senior civil servants to work at his fake council, where they were given shared office space to conduct operations.
In a shocking twist, the embattled DG has vehemently denied the allegations from hiding and fired back at the presidency.
Speaking out against the charges, he accused the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, of corruption and falsehood.
He claimed the dispute arose because he rejected a request from the Chief of Staff for a 48 percent cut of the agency’s take-off grant, alleging that Gbajabiamila had already collected a total sum of ₦400 million by proxy with a balance of ₦200 million remaining to secure the appointment.
Adding to the mystery, a search of the Budget Office’s published 2026 Appropriation Bill details shows that the Presidential Economic Advisory Council/Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council actually appears under code 0111062001 with a total allocation of ₦1.303 billion.
Pointing to this data, Prince Adeniyi argued that the government must explain how a completely non-existent agency managed to secure a massive official budgetary allocation.
He has maintained his readiness to face the law to clear his name, stating, “since the matter is in the court, let the court of competent jurisdiction vindicate me because I’m ready to clear my name.”
Meanwhile, the federal government maintains that Prince Adeniyi is a sophisticated con artist with a long history of fraudulent misrepresentation, dating back to 2016 when he falsely paraded himself as an ambassador and President-General of a non-existent United Nations affiliate body.
