The Nigerian Army has demonstrated its evolving aerial warfare and tactical capabilities by conducting a live combat search and rescue simulation during the 2026 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) at the Monguno Military Cantonment in Borno State.
A video of the exercise, executed before dignitaries at the cantonment’s sports complex grandstand, captures the newly acquired MD 530F Cayuse Warrior tactical scout helicopters performing low-altitude maneuvers.
The footage highlights the precision of the Nigerian Army Aviation Wing as tactical troops rapidly insert into a simulated hostile environment, secure the perimeter, and execute a medical evacuation of wounded personnel.
The simulation serves as a strategic demonstration of the army’s capacity to independently provide close-air support, tactical insertion, and battlefield medical evacuations in counter-insurgency operations.
