Eze noted that Oodo had recently shone in the Igbo-North Family Football Tournament held in December, leading to his selection for a trial with Enugu Rangers Football Club.
“It was during this training session that the incident occurred,” Eze said.
Oodo, a resident of Aji in Igbo-Eze North, was also a member of the Ezike Oba Football Legends, a local football association.
Chidiebere Uroko, a member of Ezike Obasi Football Legends, shared that the association’s Chairperson, Sani Onoja, has expressed condolences to Oodo’s family, offering words of comfort on Facebook. Uroko quoted Onoja as advising the family to “take heart” as “only Almighty God knows the best.”
