IG Deploys New CPs To Eight States, Other Police Formations [FULL LIST]

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has sanctioned the posting of new Commissioners of Police across eight state commands alongside multiple critical operational divisions nationwide.

Backed by the Police Service Commission, the announcement was made public on Thursday via an official release by Force Spokesperson CSP Ani Iniedu, aimed at boosting command leadership and furthering ongoing structural adjustments.

The newly assigned heads for state commands include Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo for Abia, Ayodeji Faniyan for Plateau, Saka Adewale Ajao for Bayelsa, Ajo Geoffrey Ordue for Cross River, Nanna Oji Ama for Anambra, Patrick Daaor for Edo, Tani Murtala for Jigawa, and Samuel Erale for Delta.

Additionally, leadership changes touched specialized administrative and training arms like the Force Intelligence Department, the Criminal Investigation Department, and the Police Staff College.

“CP General Investigation (G.I), Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Abuja; CP Abdullateef Ajape Yusuf, CP Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Force Headquarters, Abuja; CP Taiwo A. Adedeji, CP Anti-Human Trafficking (AHT), Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Abuja; CP Ajayi Oluyemi, CP Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), Force Headquarters, Abuja; CP Bolanle Aremu,” it continued.

“CP Inspectorate, Department of Training and Development (DTD), Force Headquarters, Abuja; CP Ibrahim Lukunche Usman, Deputy Commandant, Police Staff College (PSC), Jos; CP Mohammed Hassan Ahmed, CP Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos; CP Rita Oyintare Oki, CP Administration, Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Kaduna; CP Ibrahim Umar D. Zungura,” the release added.

Further postings feature Nelson Nwamana at the Police Academy in Kano, alongside redeployments involving Mohammed Hassan Ahmed, Rita Oyintare Oki, and Danbaba Mohammed Labbo to various zonal annexes.

The police leadership charged the newly appointed officers to leverage their expertise to drive intelligence-driven crime-fighting, secure communities, and enforce professional standards.

“He urged them to remain steadfast in safeguarding lives and property while upholding the highest standards of discipline, accountability, and service delivery,” the statement added.

The force administration reiterated that the adjustments form a core part of continuous systemic upgrades designed to optimize security delivery throughout the country.
