A Nigerian woman identified as Ogechukwu Sylvia, widely known on social media as Yelgoedess, has sparked massive reactions online after publicly declaring her urgent search for a husband and placing a cash reward on matrimony.
In a viral video circulating across platforms, the 40-year-old single woman stated that she has put aside her pride to openly seek a life partner because financial stability is no longer a challenge for her.
Speaking candidly in the clip, she stated: “At this point, I can’t pretend anymore. I’m 40 years old this year, and I really need a husband right now. Money is no longer a problem.”
Reflecting on her younger years, she explained that she previously turned down suitors while prioritizing financial independence, but lamented that the dynamic has completely shifted now that she is financially stable.
According to her, “I think when I was at my younger age, men was coming. I told them no, all I need is money. But now I have the money, but men are no longer coming. Everybody that is coming is just to eat and go, chop and go.”
Emphasizing the seriousness of her situation, she noted that she has dropped all forms of embarrassment to find a companion.
“This thing is being serious at all. I need a husband. I think this is the right time to come online and say it out, that I remove shame, that I need a husband,” she said.
She concluded by inviting interested suitors to indicate their interest, noting that she hails from Owerri in Imo State, and urged prospective partners to drop their details, ages, and pictures.
