Senator Francis Fadahunsi has directed loyalists of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to closely monitor how voters cast their ballots during the ongoing Osun State governorship election, issuing a stark warning that individuals who fail to back the party should be identified and “dealt with.”
Representing the Osun East Senatorial District, Fadahunsi reportedly issued the directive right at his designated voting ground, Polling Unit 1 located within NUD Primary School in Ilase-Ijesa, as active voting transpired.
A newly surfaced online video captures the lawmaker addressing party supporters in Yoruba, charging them to pay rigorous attention to electoral choices made at the polling booth.
According to the senator, supporters ought to look beyond verbal assurances and actively track who voters select to ensure compliance.
“Be watching who the people are voting for. It is not that someone will tell you that he voted for us. Anyone who votes for the person they are not supposed to vote for should be dealt with,” Fadahunsi stated.
This development follows closely on the heels of a recent controversy involving Fadahunsi over a separate viral clip from a political rally in Ilesa, where he was allegedly heard inciting supporters to “kill” members of the opposition Accord Party.
The remarks provoked widespread public outrage, prompting the Osun State Police Command to summon the senator for interrogation.
Amnesty International also strongly denounced the statements, demanding accountability and signaling its intent to use the senator as a benchmark case in campaigns against inflammatory political rhetoric.
Although Fadahunsi later defended his remarks by explaining that his “kill Accord” phrase was merely a figure of speech meant to signify defeating the opposition party “with votes”, his latest polling unit comments have reignited severe concerns regarding his conduct as electorates cast their ballots across the state.
