Blessing Agbebaku, who led the Edo State House of Assembly as Speaker, has officially relinquished his office.
His exit on Monday took place while several legislators were actively pushing for his impeachment.
Ivy Adodo-Ebojele, serving as his media aide, broke the news on Facebook, noting that more information regarding the reasons behind his departure will be shared subsequently.
“EDO ASSEMBLY SPEAKER RT HON CHIEF BLESSING AGBEBAKU RESIGNS,” she wrote.
This turn of events has plunged the state’s legislative arm into a leadership vacuum, leaving members to select a replacement.
