The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revealed what he claims is the underlying cause of his ongoing conflict with Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma.
Speaking on Tuesday during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time,
Wike alleged that several governors under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform collected money from Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara, yet failed to secure a second term for him.
His comments came in response to APC governors who publicly rejected any proposed rainbow coalition.
Uzodinma was the governor of Imo State, but Tinubu was not able to get 10% of the votes from his state. Even in Ebonyi State, the same thing happened,
Wike stated.
All these things you are seeing didn’t start today, it started with the ministerial position,
he explained.
APC Governors are not happy that I was given Minister of FCT. During the crisis with my Governor (Fubara), they misled my governor. They couldn’t give the governor a second term.
Questioning the consistency of their electoral victories, the Minister added, Was it Rainbow Coalition that also made APC win National Assembly elections in Ebonyi, Abia and Enugu States, where the President did not have ten percent of the votes?
