Akume, Tambuwal, Others Visit Yari In Zamfara Over Aunt’s Death

Prominent Nigerian political figures from various political parties gathered in Talata Mafara, Zamfara State, on Thursday to express condolences to the Director General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, following the passing of his aunt, Hajia Rukiya Jibril.

Leading the Federal Government’s delegation, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Senator George Akume delivered a personal message of comfort from President Bola Tinubu, reassuring the family of the administration’s support during their period of grief.

Demonstrating cross-party solidarity, representatives from opposition parties were also present.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) was represented by former Sokoto State Governor Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal alongside Senator Abdul Ningi, while the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) sent a delegation led by Senator Tony Nwoye.

Offering words of comfort, Akume reflected on the Islamic view of mortality, noting that death is a divine return to God and encouraging the family to take solace in the belief that the deceased fulfilled her purpose on earth.

Appreciating the gesture, Senator Yari expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his support and praised the delegation for travelling to Talata Mafara in person. He noted that the visit provided great comfort to his family and asked Nigerians to keep his late aunt in their prayers.

The Federal Government’s delegation included Niger State Governor Umar Bago, APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru, former Imo State Governor Senator Rochas Okorocha, and former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
