President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Lagos from Paris aboard Nigerian Air Force One, with the aircraft taxiing into the presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at approximately 6:22 pm on Tuesday.
Journalists present at the airport were prohibited from taking visuals of the President’s arrival, as media coverage remained restricted while the presidential aircraft taxied toward the terminal.
President Tinubu left Nigeria on August 30 for London before traveling to Paris, where he engaged in diplomatic meetings, including a dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron.
His arrival concludes a four-week stay abroad, positioning the President to participate in national events marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
According to the Presidency, Tinubu remained fully engaged with national affairs and actively directed governance during his period away.
While in Paris, the President attended a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, where both leaders held talks focused on advancing Nigeria-France relations and bolstering bilateral cooperation.
Tinubu also met with Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group to explore investment opportunities across Nigeria’s creative and digital sectors.
The Presidency confirmed that conversations focused on expanding the conglomerate’s footprint in film, entertainment, and fiber-optic infrastructure.
Additionally, the President witnessed the signing of a major agreement in Paris between the Ogun State Government and DP World for the establishment of the Gateway Deep Sea Port and Ogun State Blue Marine Special Economic Zone, a development valued at over $7 billion.
However, the President’s extended time outside the country sparked political debate, particularly following an announcement from the Presidency that his stay had been prolonged by several days.
