Tension and drama erupted at PTI Junction in Warri when youths who gathered for a scheduled 5-kilometer Independence Day fitness run discovered that the event had allegedly been turned into a political platform.
Participants who turned out to celebrate the national holiday were handed “Soft Nigeria” T-shirts, only to realize that President Bola Tinubu’s face was hidden inside the clothing design.
Feeling deceived by the disguised political campaign, the angry participants aggressively tore the branded shirts apart to protest the unexpected political maneuvering.
As the protest escalated right on the streets, the demonstrators began loudly chanting “OBI! OBI! OBI!” in fierce support of the opposition.
