Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, a regional leader of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, has arrived in Israel to draw global attention to ongoing security challenges and killings in Plateau and across Nigeria.
Dachomo announced his arrival on Friday, October 2, via his official Facebook page, marking what he described as his maiden international Christian advocacy tour.
During the visit, the cleric intends to highlight attacks against communities in Plateau and the wider Middle Belt region while seeking a direct meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
His itinerary also features engagements with international Christian leaders and prayer groups to mobilize global support and prayers for Nigeria.
“Today, I am in Israel praying for Nigeria, our leaders, and our people. I believe in miracles, and I believe God can change what looks impossible,” Dachomo said.
In an accompanying video, Dachomo offered prayers for Israel, Prime Minister Netanyahu, the Israeli cabinet, and the Israel Defence Forces, alongside President Bola Tinubu, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and other African leaders.
The cleric emphasized that his advocacy encompasses all victims of violence regardless of faith, stating: “I am coming to stand for Nigeria and to pray for our nation: for Muslims being killed in Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto and Katsina; for Christians; for my Biafran brothers.”
Referencing recent violence in his home area, including an attack where armed men reportedly killed three people in his jurisdiction, Dachomo outlined his goal for a potential meeting with the Israeli leader: “By God’s grace, if we meet one-on-one in Israel, I will share with him the agony of Christians in Nigeria.”
The trip follows Dachomo’s vocal campaigning against insecurity in Plateau State, including a July incident where he stated that nine members of his extended family were killed in Riyom Local Government Area.
