Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, continues to adjust across retail outlets and filling stations nationwide as market-driven forces, deregulated supply chains, and distribution logistics influence localized pump prices.
Across major cities, retail prices vary significantly depending on the supplier, transport costs, and depot location. National NNPC Retail outlets maintain relatively lower pump figures compared to independent marketers across the geopolitical zones following recent price adjustments.
In major commercial hubs like Lagos and Abuja, prices at independent retail stations and major marketers currently range between ₦1,320 and ₦1,380 per liter, reflecting recent reductions from major suppliers and gantry rates from domestic refining facilities like the Dangote Refinery.
In southern and eastern regions such as Port Harcourt, Benin, and Enugu, retail prices average between ₦1,350 and ₦1,400 per liter due to marine transport charges and localized handling costs.
Meanwhile, far northern states, including Maiduguri, Sokoto, and Kano, report retail figures between ₦1,380 and ₦1,450 per liter at independent stations, reflecting higher haulage distances from coastal depots and primary regional distribution hubs.
Industry stakeholders continue to monitor supply movements from domestic refiners and imported cargoes, with price adjustments remaining subject to foreign exchange rate movements and international crude benchmarks.
