A viral video circulating across social media platforms has captured a chieftain and candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Aminu Warkal, openly brandishing a firearm during a tense political rally in Kano State.
The footage shows the politician standing atop a vehicle and waving what appears to be a pump-action weapon or rifle in front of a cheering crowd, sparking widespread alarm and heated debate online.
Following the massive backlash generated by the incident, the Kano State Police Command waded into the matter and summoned the politician to the command headquarters for questioning regarding the public display of a firearm.
While the video has drawn severe criticism from citizens concerned about electoral violence and safety, it continues to trigger mixed reactions as security operatives carry out investigations into the breach.
