Wike’s remarks come amid speculation about his potential departure from the PDP due to internal conflicts, especially those directed at him.

Nevertheless, he has repeatedly affirmed his dedication to his principles, even if it means standing alone.

When asked if he might leave the PDP, Wike responded, “Anyone who knows me knows if I wanted to join the APC, I would do it openly.

“I’ve never hidden my stance, and I won’t start now. Integrity is very important.”

Wike emphasized his commitment to his principles, asserting that the PDP’s victory in Rivers State was due to his steadfast stance.

“People must know you for something,” he concluded, dismissing his critics as being afraid of his influence.

This follows less than 24 hours after Chief Edwin Clark, a former Federal Commissioner for Information, urged PDP National Chairman Iliya Damagun to expel Wike from the party.

In an open letter, Clark accused Wike of leveraging his influence with President Bola Tinubu to intimidate both Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the PDP.
