Tinubu Reacts As Sad News On Former Minister Of Defence Emerge

President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences to Professor Iya Abubakar, elder statesman and former Minister of Defence, on the death of his wife, Hajiya Ummu Abubakar.

Hajiya Abubakar, who was also the mother-in-law of National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, passed away in Abuja at the age of 78.

In a statement released on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu praised Hajiya Abubakar for her devotion to faith and family, noting that she will be remembered for her good deeds.

The President offered prayers for her soul and encouraged her family to uphold the legacy she left behind.

“President Bola Tinubu commiserates with the elder statesman and former minister of defence, Professor Iya Abubakar, over the passing of his wife, Ummu Abubakar.’

“The President states Hajiya Ummu Abubakar will be remembered for her devotion to God and dedication to family values.

“President Tinubu prays for God’s mercy on the departed and urges her family to maintain the good name she left behind,” the statement reads.
