Shehu Sani Reacts As Presidential Spokesman Ajuri Ngelale Proceeds On Indefinite Leave Of Absence

Shehu Sani, a former Senator for Kaduna Central in the 8th National Assembly, has commented on Ajuri Ngelale’s indefinite leave of absence from his role as Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity.

On Saturday, the Presidency announced that Ngelale had submitted a memo to Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila on Friday, notifying him of his decision to take an indefinite leave.

Ngelale also mentioned his temporary resignation as Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen to address medical issues affecting his family.

In response, Sani took to his official X account to suggest that Ngelale could now rest, disconnect from work, and focus on his well-being.

He wrote, “Ajuri can now rest well, sleep well, eat well, switch off his phone and even add some weight.”

On August 1, 2023, Ngelale was appointed as the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

According to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, this appointment was effective from July 31, 2023, and will continue until the end of the administration unless the President decides otherwise.

On May 19, 2024, President Tinubu appointed Ngelale as the first Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action.

Additionally, he was named Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen and Secretary of the Presidential Committee on Climate Action and Green Economic Solutions.
