A large billboard promoting President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election has appeared along the busy Area One area of the Federal Capital Territory.
The billboard, featuring images of Tinubu and his wife, Remi, boldly states, “Grassroots support for Tinubu 2027, the 1019 initiative.”

This has prompted considerable discussion among commuters and passersby, even though Tinubu has not yet made an official announcement about seeking a second term.
Tinubu assumed the presidency on May 29, 2023, achieving his goal of becoming the country’s leader.
Since then, his tenure has been marked by a mix of experiences for many Nigerians, particularly due to significant policy changes such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the national currency.
These measures have been linked to widespread economic hardship, leading to public dissatisfaction.
The resulting frustration was evident in the #EndBadGovernance protests that took place across the country from August 1 to 10.
