Abia State Governor Alex Otti has explained his decision not to address comments made by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ben Kalu, who suggested that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would displace him as governor in 2027.
Speaking to reporters at the Government House in Umuahia over the weekend, Otti stated that he chose not to respond because he believes that power ultimately rests with God, who grants it as He sees fit.

Recently, a viral video showed Kalu claiming that it would be unusual for someone other than the APC, and not Kalu himself, to govern Abia State in 2027.
In response, Otti said, ” I am actually not competent to sit here to tell what will happen in 2027. I do not subscribe to playing God.
He emphasized that authority is a divine matter and that it would be unwise for him to attempt to forecast the future.
