BREAKING: FG Sends Fresh Warning To Nigerians

The Federal Government has issued a warning to Nigerian citizens planning to travel to the United Kingdom, urging them to be cautious of the increased risk of violence following the recent killing of three young girls at a concert.

In a statement released on Monday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja and signed by its Spokesperson, Amb. Eche Abu-Obe, the government noted that the violence has escalated to “dangerous proportions,” with reported attacks on law enforcement and damage to infrastructure.

Nigerian citizens are advised to remain extra vigilant and take precautionary measures, including avoiding political processions, protests, rallies, or marches, steering clear of crowded areas and large gatherings, and maintaining a high level of vigilance and self-awareness at all times.

It is important to note that recent demonstrations by far-right and other extra-parliamentary groups in parts of the UK have been large and, at times, unruly.

These tensions have been exacerbated by the tragic deaths of the three girls, fueling an anti-immigration narrative, with a particular focus on targeting Muslim immigrants and people of color.

Last Tuesday, a large crowd of anti-Muslim protesters clashed with police in a northern English town where three girls were fatally stabbed, and five other children were critically wounded during an attack at a Taylor Swift-themed event on Monday.

The horrific stabbing incident in Southport, a quiet seaside town north of Liverpool, has shocked the nation. Police have stated that the attack was not linked to terrorism and that the suspect was born in the UK.
