Brig Gen Temlong Reveals If Nigerian Armed Forces Flag Is Same As Russian Flag

Brigadier General Jonathan Temlong has clarified that the flag being displayed by rioters in Abuja and Kano is not the Nigerian Armed Forces flag, but a Russian flag.

Temlong, the pioneer commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force, made this disclosure in an interview with Channels Television.

His comments come in the wake of the ongoing hunger protests, which have entered their fifth day, during which rioters were arrested for displaying the Russian flag.

The display of the flag had led to speculation on social media that the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, was planning to take over the government from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. However, Temlong emphasized that the flag seen was not that of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

“The armed forces flag is completely different from the Russian flag. The red in the armed forces flag means Army, blue, Navy and light sky blue, Air Force. It is quite different from the Russian flag. It is just for people to twist logic. It is not the Armed Forces flag,” he said.
