The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has suspended Senator Gabriel Suswam, Terngu Tsegba, Richard Gbande, Terseer Tsumba, and Professor Nicholas Ada from the party.
Additionally, the party has suspended the chairmen of the Apa, Gboko, Gwer-East, Katsina-Ala, Konshisha, Logo, Otukpo, and Ukum local government areas.
The party summoned the affected individuals on Wednesday, accusing them of gross misconduct and anti-party activities. .
The summopns came in the wake of an alleged invasion of the party’s state secretariat in Makurdi by thugs reportedly led by John Ngbede, the state chairman who is currently suspended.
The affected individuals were asked to appear before the State Working Committee (SWC) on Thursday at 10 a.m.
Bemgba Iortyom, the party’s state Publicity Secretary, stated that the summons was intended for a preliminary interaction with the invited persons, with the goal of potentially avoiding the need for disciplinary action.
