Mamman voiced dissatisfaction with the merger of technical colleges and colleges of science, claiming that it destroyed the benefits of creating technical colleges across the country.

He said that technical colleges should only accept students who are interested in technical education.

The minister stressed that those who want to do science programmes should go to regular colleges and continue their programmes there as it was clearly a mistake to have merged both schools.

Mamman also lamented the poor enrolment of students in technical colleges, pointing out that technical colleges were supposed to provide skills that would help improve the country.
