Oyo Declares August 20 Work-free, Gives Reason

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has designated August 20 as a work-free day to celebrate Isese Day 2024.

This announcement was made in a statement by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, and detailed in a circular from the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Olanike Adeyemo.

Governor Makinde had previously declared that August 20 would be an annual work-free day to mark Isese Day.

In the circular, the governor urged traditional worshippers and all citizens to observe the day with prayers for peace, unity, and stability both within the state and across the country.
