Hajiya Hauwa Kulu Muhammadu Jega, the mother of former INEC Chairman Professor Attahiru Jega, passed away on the night of August 16, 2024, in Abuja following a brief illness.

A funeral prayer for her will be held at the National Mosque in Abuja on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., with her burial taking place afterward at Gudu Cemetery.
In her mid-90s, Hajiya Hauwa is survived by many children and grandchildren, including prominent individuals such as journalist Malam Mahmud Jega and former AMCON Executive Director Alhaji Abbas Jega.
