Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has approved the payment of the new national minimum wage of ₦70,000 to state civil servants, effective from August.
The announcement was made by Comrade Emmanuel Fashe, the state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), following a closed-door meeting with the governor at the Government House.

Governor Fintiri had previously committed to implementing the Federal Government’s new minimum wage resolution during the 2024 May Day celebration.
Fashe indicated that the new wage will be calculated using the 2019 consequential adjustment template, with the Accountant General’s office responsible for updating the August payroll.
However, local government workers may experience a delay and might receive their salary adjustments in September, pending the completion of the review by the National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission.
