In 2021, Ori moved to News Echo newspaper, where he held the position of Managing Editor.

He later co-founded Oriental Newspaper, a weekly tabloid based in Owerri, Imo State, that serves the South East region.

Ihedioha dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in April after over 20 years of affiliation.

While he has not yet officially joined a new political party, there are strong indications that he may align with the Labour Party (LP).
