Ahead of the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, announced that he would not support Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Wike made this declaration during an interview on Channels Television’s *Politics Today* on Friday.

Additionally, he stated that he would not back the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, who is endorsed by the outgoing Edo State Governor.
Wike also characterized Obaseki as ungrateful.
