BREAKING: #EdoDecides2024: APC’s Okpebholo Leads Ighodalo With 48,000 Votes After Results From 16 LGAs

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Monday Okpebholo, is currently leading in the Edo State governorship election with a significant margin.

Okpebholo has garnered over 48,000 more votes than his closest contender, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

As of Sunday, results from 16 local government areas had been declared at the INEC Collation Centre in Benin City. Okpebholo, who represents Edo Central in the Senate, has won 10 of these local governments, securing 244,549 votes compared to Ighodalo’s 195,954.

The PDP candidate has claimed victory in six local government areas, while Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata trails far behind with just 13,346 votes.
