Usman Maigadi, a guard at Orchard Farm owned by the Emir of Yauri, Muhammad Zayyanu-Abdullahi, was killed by a hippopotamus, according to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria.
It’s believed that the animal perceived him as a threat to its calf, leading to the attack in self-defense.
