Abdurrasheed Bawa, the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has lost his mother.
While details surrounding her passing remain limited, it has been reported that Hajiya Hadiza Ahmed Bawa died in Abuja on Wednesday night.
Bawa confirmed her death to Daily Trust but chose not to provide further information.

“Yes it is true I lost my mother. She is survived by 10 children,”
Arrangements are underway to transport her remains to Kebbi State, where funeral rites are scheduled to take place later on Thursday.
Bawa, who was the first civilian to lead the EFCC, was nominated as the substantive Chairman of the commission on February 16, 2021, and was subsequently confirmed by the National Assembly.
President Bola Tinubu suspended him from his position in July.
