Following a resolution by the House of Representatives to investigate bribery allegations against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the House Joint Committees have summoned the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyode.
In a letter dated 27th September 2024, the committee directed the EFCC Chairman and the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service to appear on Monday, 30th September, along with all officers involved in the allegations.

The bribery allegations arose from a viral social media voice recording involving Idris Okuneye, a crossdresser known as Bobrisky, who was sentenced earlier this year to six months in prison for abusing the naira.
The recording suggested that Bobrisky allegedly paid N15 million to the EFCC to drop money laundering charges and that he served time in a VIP facility rather than a standard prison.
The House Committee has also extended invitations to Bobrisky and social media influencer Martins Otse, known online as Very Dark Man, who released the voice recording.
