He stated that Mr. Abacha cited the MNJTF’s intensified operations and his waning interest in the cause as reasons for his surrender.

Upon surrendering, Mr. Abacha handed over an AK-47 rifle, a magazine containing 11 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, a mobile phone, an Airtel SIM card, and N32,500.

He noted that the suspect is currently providing valuable intelligence to the authorities.

In a separate operation, MNJTF troops, alongside intelligence operatives, ambushed Boko Haram terrorists transporting large supplies in three Toyota vehicles under the cover of darkness.

The troops engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle, resulting in one death and forcing the others to flee, leaving their supplies behind.

Mr. Osaba reported that the recovered items included three Toyota vehicles filled with assorted foodstuffs, various other items, and N2,000.
