President Bola Tinubu has conferred the national honor of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) on Senate President Godswill Akpabio and the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.
The President made this announcement during his broadcast to mark Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day Anniversary in Abuja on Tuesday.

“As is the tradition, the government will soon announce all the beneficiaries of our national honours for 2024,” Tinubu said.
“The Senate President and the Chief Justice of the Federation have been conferred with the honour of the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).”
President Tinubu also conferred the honor of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) on Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas.
Additionally, the President awarded the honor of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) to the Deputy Speaker of the House, Benjamin Kalu.

Tinubu assured Nigerians of better days ahead, saying “the challenges of the moment must always make us believe in ourselves”.
