El-Rufai Makes Political Declaration Ahead Of 2027

Former Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has announced his intention to re-enter politics in 2027.

In an interview with Freedom Radio Kaduna yesterday, El-Rufai also firmly rejected claims made by the Kaduna State House of Assembly that N423 billion was stolen or misappropriated during his tenure as governor.

“I intend to return to politics in 2027 after completing my studies. There is no retirement in politics. By the will of Allah, we will return and continue serving the people.

“I didn’t join politics to steal money or enrich myself. I was satisfied with what I had before becoming governor,” El-Rufai said.

The former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, emphasized that his administration has faced accusations of financial misappropriation without any solid evidence.

He also pointed out that his associates are being targeted by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He mentioned that he has directed his lawyers to initiate legal action against those damaging his reputation.

“I have left everything to Allah’s judgment. I have prayed and will remain silent on the issue,” he said.

“You don’t need to hold a position in government to serve. We are still working with like-minded individuals who genuinely want to serve the people, not those seeking to enrich themselves,” he added.
