Policeman Stabs Civilian To Death Over ‘Uncleared Transaction’

A Police Inspector, Mohammed Bulama, attached to Police Mobile Force (PMF) 41 in Yobe State, has been arrested for the fatal stabbing of a 39-year-old civilian, Abdulmalik Dauda, in Damaturu, the state capital.

The incident stemmed from a heated argument between Bulama and the victim over “uncleared transactions” in the Zango area of Damaturu. Bulama allegedly stabbed Dauda in the chest during the altercation.

The incident occurred on September 29, 2024, according to the state police spokesperson, Dungus Abdulkarim, who confirmed in a statement that Bulama has been arrested and that investigations into the homicide are underway.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, has ordered the immediate investigation into the homicide incident involving Inspector Mohammed Bulama, attached to Police Mobile Force PMF 41 Division Damaturu,” he said.

The spokesperson stated that Bulama has been placed in police custody, awaiting internal disciplinary action and subsequent prosecution.

Commissioner of Police Garba Ahmed condemned Bulama’s actions, extended condolences to Dauda’s family, and assured the public that justice would be served.
