How Manchester City Star Matheus Nunes Was ‘Arrested’ In Spain For Stealing Mobile Phone In Bathroom Of A Madrid Nightclub

Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes was reportedly arrested in Spain last month on charges of theft.

According to *El Mundo*, Nunes was detained by the National Police at the La Riviera nightclub in Madrid on September 8 after allegedly stealing another man’s mobile phone.

The incident occurred during a weekend trip with friends, as Nunes had not been selected for Portugal’s international squad.

The arrest took place at 5:30 a.m., with reports stating that the 25-year-old player snatched a 58-year-old man’s phone in the club’s bathroom.

Nunes claimed that the man had attempted to take his photograph without consent, prompting him to take the phone.

The alleged victim immediately reported the incident to police, who later discovered the phone in Nunes’ possession in his hotel room.

Witnesses offered a different version of events, suggesting the man may have accidentally touched Nunes with the phone in hand, leading to a misunderstanding. Nunes, thinking his picture had been taken, reacted angrily.

The midfielder was briefly held in custody before being released on bail pending trial.

Despite the incident, Nunes is continuing with his football commitments, having started in Manchester City’s recent Champions League match against Slovan Bratislava and expected to feature in the Premier League clash against Fulham on Saturday.
