BREAKING: Benue LG Election Winners Emerge

On Sunday, the Chairman of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission, Richard Tombowua, announced that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates had emerged victorious in the local government election held on Saturday.

While delivering the results at the commission’s headquarters on Naka Road, Tombowua declared that the APC secured all 23 chairmanship positions and won all 276 councillorship seats contested across the state.

He said, “The election held yesterday across the state went off without a hitch; it was free and fair, and the returning officers have submitted all the results from the field.

“From the results, the All Progressives Congress won all 23 chairmanship and 276 councillorship positions.”

He further noted that five out of the eight political parties that submitted candidate lists took part in the Saturday election. The SIEC chairman named the participating parties as the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

In response to the election results, Ibrahim Idoko, the state chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council and the Labour Party, praised the commission for ensuring a smooth and orderly election.

Idoko also acknowledged Governor Hyacinth Alia for providing a level playing field for all parties involved. He added that his party would review the election’s outcome and share its position at a later time.
