Full List Of Newly Elected LG Chairmen With Previous Position Held In Rivers Emerge

On October 5, residents of Rivers State turned out to vote for their next set of grassroots representatives.

The election, which had stirred controversy over its legitimacy prior to its commencement, saw the Action Peoples Party (APP) claim victory in 22 out of the 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) delayed the declaration of results for Etche LGA, citing ongoing collation.

Announcing the results in Port Harcourt on Saturday, RSIEC Chief Electoral Officer Adolphus Enebeli stated that the results for the 319 councillorship seats, along with the Etche Chairmanship position, would be released once collation is complete.
