After some suspected thugs set fire on some local government secretariats in Rivers state on Monday, some youths in Ikwerre decided to keep watch over their secretariat.
Ikwerre LG was one of the Council attacked by the thugs.
The move to keep watch at night over Ikwerre LG was to prevent against thugs who might want to attack the secretariat building again and set it ablaze at night.

On Monday some LGs were set on fire by suspected thugs.
This happened amid the political rift between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and former Governor Nyesom Wike.
The rift heightened after Fubara decision to conduct local government election to elect chairmen for the 23 LGs in Rivers.
Fubara conducted the LG election and has sworn in the 23 elected council chairmen.
