BREAKING: Court Orders VeryDarkMan To Take Down Social Media Posts About Falana, Falz, Gives Reason

The Lagos State High Court on Tuesday ordered social media activist Martin Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, to remove defamatory comments and videos about renowned human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) and his son, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, from his social media platforms.

Justice M. O. Dawodu, delivering the ruling in case no: ID/8584/GCM/2024, stated that the videos posted by VeryDarkMan on September 24, which linked crossdresser Idris Okuneye, a.k.a. Bobrisky, to Falz and his father, were defamatory and harmful to their public reputation.

“According to the applicants (Falz and Falana), the defendant (VeryDarkMan) knew these statements (Bobrisky’s claims) were false and untrue but proceeded to publish them to injure their reputation.

“Furthermore, the defamatory statements are still trending on the defendant (VeryDarkMan)’s several online platforms and the injury to their reputation continues as long as the publication remains online,” Justice Dawodu ruled.
