Nigeria decisively defeated New Zealand 4-1 on Wednesday, kicking off their campaign at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup with a strong performance.

The Flamingos dominated the first half, scoring three goals and gaining a significant advantage as they moved towards the next stage of the tournament in the Dominican Republic.

Shakira Moshood opened the scoring just two minutes into the Group A match.

By the 30th minute, Taiwo Adegoke and Fairdat Abdulwahab added two more goals, extending Nigeria’s lead to 3-0.

In the second half, Taiwo Afolabi scored again, bringing the score to 4-0.

Although the Kiwis managed to pull one back, making it 4-1, they struggled to threaten the Nigerian goal throughout the match.
