The Kano State Hisbah Board confirmed on Friday the arrest and detention of Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Jigawa Commissioner for Special Duties, for allegedly having an aff@!r with a married woman, Tasleem Baba Nabegu.
Sankara was reportedly caught in the act with her in an uncompleted building, according to the Hisbah, which functions as a Sharia police.
Hisbah Director General Abba Sufi stated that the arrest followed intelligence tracking after receiving multiple complaints from the woman’s husband’s younger brother about Sankara’s “nefarious acts.”

“Yes, it is true we have arrested Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Jigawa Commissioner, with a married woman in an uncompleted building that belongs to him.
“Unknown to him, we were tracking him based on reports we received against him,” the Hisbah Director General said.
Hisbah announced that Auwalu Sankara is set to be prosecuted on Monday in a court of law.
The arrest came after a complaint from Nasiru Bulama, the woman’s husband, who accused the commissioner of having an illicit aff@!r with his wife, Tasleem Baba Nabegu, the mother of his two children.
“Nasiru Bulama filed the complaint with the Kano State Police Command, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Hisbah Board, alleging Sankara’s involvement in illicit $3xu@l activities with his wife,” the official added.
The Director General explained that Sankara will be taken to court for several charges, including operating illicit drug centers known as Picklock, 360, and three other locations.
He said: “We have been having problems with Sankara because he is operating illicit drugs Centers in the names of h0t3ls with pr0st!tut!0n and drug addiction activities”.
