Full List Of Tinubu’s Ministers Who Got New Ministries

President Bola Tinubu reshuffled his cabinet on Wednesday, dismissing five of his 47 ministers and nominating seven new appointees, pending Senate confirmation.

Among the changes, Yusuf Sununu was removed as Minister of State for Education and reassigned to the role of Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction. Olatunji Alausa was replaced as Minister of State for Health and is now the Minister of Education.

Bello Goronyo was relieved of his duties as Minister of State for Water Resources and Sanitation, taking on the role of Minister of State for Works instead.

Abubakar Momoh was also removed as Minister of Niger Delta Development and reassigned as Minister of Regional Development. Uba Maigari Ahmadu shifted from Minister of State for Steel Development to Minister of State for Regional Development.

Doris Uzoka-Anite, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, has been reassigned to the role of Minister of State for Finance, serving under Minister Wale Edun. Sports Minister John Enoh is now the Minister of State for Trade and Investment, while Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim was removed from her position as Minister of State for Police Affairs and assigned to be the Minister of Women Affairs.

Ayodele Olawande has been elevated to Minister of Youth Development from his previous role as Minister of State for Youth Development. Iziak Salako, the Minister of State for Environment, has been reassigned to Minister of State for Health.

Tinubu appointed a total of 48 ministers in August 2023, shortly after taking office.

The Senate promptly screened and confirmed these ministers. Notably, one minister, Betta Edu, was suspended in January, while another, Simon Lalong, transitioned to the Senate.

Calls for a cabinet reshuffle had intensified as many Nigerians expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of certain ministers amid rising inflation, economic challenges, and growing insecurity.

In September, presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga indicated that a cabinet reshuffle was forthcoming, although no specific timeline was provided.
