The Senate has received a request from President Bola Tinubu to confirm the appointments of seven ministerial nominees announced on Wednesday.
In a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, which was read at the start of Thursday’s plenary, Tinubu urged the Senate to expedite the confirmation process for the nominees.
The nominees for ministerial positions include Nentawe Yilwatda (Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction), Muhammadu Dingyadi (Labour and Employment), Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu (State Foreign Affairs), and Jumoke Oduwole (Industry, Trade and Investment).
Also nominated are Idi Mukhtar Maiha (Livestock Development), Yusuf Ata (State, Housing and Urban Development), and Suwaiba Ahmad (State Education).
Akpabio has referred the nominees to the Committee of the Whole for prompt legislative action.
