The result leaves Arsenal five points behind league leaders Manchester City and four points off second-placed Liverpool.
Liverpool started the weekend on top of the table, having won 11 of their first 12 matches under manager Arne Slot.
However, the draw means they now sit one point behind Manchester City, with Arsenal in third place.
Arsenal welcomed back Bukayo Saka from a hamstring injury, and he made an immediate impact, finding the net just nine minutes in after a brilliant touch from Ben White’s pass.
Virgil van Dijk quickly equalized for Liverpool with a goal from a corner, but Arsenal regained the lead before halftime thanks to a header from Mikel Merino.
After the break, Liverpool improved their performance and found their equalizer when Darwin Nunez set up Salah for his eighth goal of the season.
