The Ondo State Government has declared Friday, November 15, 2024, a public holiday for all public servants in the state in preparation for Saturday’s Governorship Election.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Thursday, titled “Declaration of Friday, November 15, 2024, as a Work-Free Day in Ondo State,” and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Service, F. Ayodele.
The government explained that the decision was made to allow public servants to travel to their respective communities and fully participate in the upcoming election, ensuring they can exercise their civic duties.

“The 2024 Governorship Election in Ondo State has been scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission to be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
“To this end, the Ondo State Government has declared Friday, November 15, 2024, as Work-Free Day for Public Servants in the State to enable them to travel to their various communities to exercise their civic responsibilities,” it partly read.
It further directed that “All Accounting Officers are to note the content of this circular and disseminate same to all staff of their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies.”
